Marcela Foshay
Marcela Foshay
REALTOR®
Marcela was introduced to the beauty of Central Virginia during a visit to her in-laws farm in 2004. Over the next 4 years, Marcela and her husband, an Orange County native, escaped from New York City to the area at every opportunity. In 2008 the couple relocated to Charlottesville. They now live just west of town with 2 young children.
Marcela worked at the UN in New York City and internationally for 10 years in program management and administration management, honing her natural mutli-tasking and organizational strengths. She also worked in marketing and public relations, which will no doubt serve her well in residential real estate. No surprise, with her resume from the UN, Marcela is fluent in Slovak, Czech, Russian and of course English. She easily understands several other languages too!
On the non-profit front, Marcela has quickly distinguished herself in the Charlottesville community. She graduated from the Board Development Academy at the Center for Nonprofit Excellence and has devoted many hours to The Women’s Initiative, a local nonprofit providing mental health care to women in need. Additionally, she is one of the founding members of the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation’s Future Fund, where she has served as a Co-chair of the Resource and Development Committee and as a member of the Grants and Steering Committees. She has also helped several local non-profits with their fundraising efforts, namely Charlottesville Business Innovation Council, The Women’s Initiative, St. Anne’s Belfield School and The Covenant School.
She served on the Board of Directors in Ednam Forest neighborhood; was a member of the Nominating Committee in Farmington Country Club; Chaired the Emerging Technology Master Group at Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors; and is a member of several other committees.
Marcela is a natural for real estate sales. Her energy and sense of urgency promise that she works tirelessly for her buyer clients in pursuit of the right home. Her analytical mind and background in advertising is translating into excellent valuation skills and effective marketing for her clients who are selling their properties. Her extensive contacts through her non-profit efforts and her children’s schools serve Marcela in real estate too.
If there is any time left over after the demands and joys of her family, Marcela can be found on a local golf course or perhaps enjoying a good meal at one of the area’s many excellent restaurants.
Testimonials
“She is on top of her game 24/7. Seriously. Having her as our real estate agent has made the process amazingly easy. She is on top of her game 24/7. 1. She is working all the time. Sunday’s Saturday’s, evenings, whatever, she always seems to be working. I say this having observed email and text time stamps. 2. Everything is electronic. We never have to meet to get things done. That is super important when four people are on the deed, spread out across the country. Signing electronically??? Yeah. That’s awesome. 3. Her emails are to the point, crisp and concise. 4. I just can’t get over how EASY she has made it all feel.”
Will W.
“Marcela was wonderful to work with. I found her to be very invested in finding the right home for me. She is readily accessible and very responsive to questions and calls. She seems genuinely interested in her clients and I would highly recommend her. She was very reassuring and helped this first-time home buyer better understand the process of buying a home without being ‘pushy’ or trying too hard to sell something that wasn’t right for me.”
Meredith L.
“Marcela was very attentive and honest throughout the whole process for me, a first time home buyer. She was a great representative of my best interests.”
Francis J.
“An Outstanding Resource. We are trying to relocate to the Charlottesville, VA, area, which is new to us. Marcela has been familiarizing us with various neighborhoods and making excellent suggestions as to properties we should review. Buying a house from afar is not an easy process, and she is an outstanding resource (e.g., settlement attorneys, home inspection services, etc.) and has gone the extra mile for us, visiting the properties, sending us photos to supplement the MLS listings, and conducting research on such details as the RR schedule in certain parts of town. We are impressed by and appreciate her professionalism, negotiating skills, dedication to our interests, and knowledge of the local real estate market and procedures.”
“Responds Within the Day. Marcela is extremely knowledgeable about Charlottesville real estate. She is a great listener and is very responsive to my needs. In fact, she always answers my calls or responds to me within the day! On top of that, Marcela conducts herself with the upmost professionalism and understands the local market. I would highly recommend her!”
Bridget K.
“Marcela did an excellent job of representing our property throughout the entire sale’s process. Prior to listing, Marcela provided a detailed analysis of our home’s value and a checklist of home improvement/organizational ideas in order to show our home in its best light. Once our listing went live, Marcela provided thorough feedback from showings, went to great lengths to advertise our property in local publications, and eagerly scheduled open houses in order to get our house “under contract” faster than the average “days on market” for the City of Charlottesville. Lastly, Marcela went the extra mile during the negotiation and closing process in order to assist all parties in arriving at a deal in a timely manner. I highly recommend Marcela Foshay as a real estate agent for your house selling and buying needs.”
Lance K.
“Marcela was warm, professional, supportive, and reliable throughout our home-searching and buying process. She designed our home-touring itineraries to maximize our time, taking into account the moods and needs of our infant daughter who came with us. Her knowledge of the various neighborhoods in Charlottesville was invaluable since we are new here. And once we found our home, Marcela was masterful as our intermediary and managed to make everything feel less stressful for us. She was always responsive to our queries and very candid in her responses. We are very happy with our new home, and recommend her services without reservation!”
Anri Y.
“Amazing help when we were looking for our forever home in addition to selling our other home. She was patient, knowledgable and a champion throughout the process. For example, she took us to a lot of homes over a number of years and went out of her way to find what we were looking for in areawe were looking. Highly recommended.”
Michael P.
“My husband and I bought our first home last month and were fortunate enough to be connected with Marcela. From the moment we started exchanging emails, Marcela was 100% dedicated to helping us find the perfect home for us, our budget, and our lifestyle. Not only did we find it, but Marcela made the entire process super digestible and way less intimidating than it could have been for first-time homeowners. Her expertise on Charlottesville neighborhoods was extremely helpful for us having just graduated from business school at UVA Darden and not knowing the ins and outs. I can honestly say that Marcela was not only a perfect real estate agent but now a lifelong friend. We couldn’t recommend a real estate agent more highly than Marcela.”

Bunny French
Bunny French
REALTOR®
Growing up in Long Island, New York, with a love of horses and animals provided natural incentive for Bunny to move to the more open spaces of Virginia. Charlottesville provided Bunny with ample opportunities to grow as she attended the University of Virginia while still successfully competing on the horse show circuit, garnering Championships at The Winter Equestrian Festival, Devon, The Hampton Classic, Pennsylvania National, Washington National and The National Horse Show at Madison Square Garden. Calling Virginia home for more than 30 years and riding through the countryside around Charlottesville has given Bunny a unique insight to real estate in the area.
Bunny works for her clients as honestly and fairly as she worked to pursue her own achievements. It is the same passion she used to succeed in her sport that she brings to real estate to achieve the goals of her clients. Bunny currently lives on her farm outside of Charlottesville and frequently travels to Wellington, Florida where she is also licensed to sell real estate.
When time allows she likes to run, read, garden and care for her animals.

“Bunny was with us every step of the way during a quick and somewhat difficult sale process. She is very knowledgeable about the real estate market and was quite helpful communicating with contractors. She was always there to ease our minds when we were stressed. “
Monica Van Zandt
“Bunny French worked with over a period of 2 to 3 years while we looked for a suitable home to buy. The home we settled on finally was considerably more expensive than we intended at start. But that was our own decision. We made a number of short visits to Charlottesville and on all occasions Bunny was available to take us around and show us the potential properties. She has a nice friendly temperament and looks after the client’s interests. She was also excellent and prompt in responding to our numerous emails and phone calls”
Pravin Trivedi
“Bunny is friendly, sweet and very good at what she does. After taking us through house after house, she kept on going, never losing patience with us and was always happy and cheerful. We are SO pleased with the house she helped us find, and recommend her to anyone in the market for a great house! “
Karen Turbiner
“Bunny could not have been more helpful in our search for a home. A pleasure to work with, she was honest in her dealings, easy to communicate with and went above and beyond for her clients. Highly recommend!”
Christina Liva
“I have had the pleasure of working with Bunny French on several real estate transactions as both a buyer and a seller… I always felt that Bunny had all of my best interests at heart.. I felt that she was easy to communicate with, & always had an answer to the question… She’s honest and hard working.. I would highly recommend her.”
Max Olivas
“I was referred to Bunny by a friend of mind that Bunny had helped to buy a small farm. I was moving into the Charlottesville area from Northern Virginia and did not know the area at all. I was also about 6 months away from moving. Bunny kept in contact with me the entire time meeting me when I was able to come into town, showing me properties and letting me wander around helping me with the pros and cons of each property. When I did finally choose a home Bunny was with me every step of the way. Bunny is very knowledgeable. She knows the Charlottesville area, was able to give me a choice of home inspectors, trades people to get estimates from and closing companies. I never felt that I was on my own. Even after the closing she continued to check in on me and still is a great source of information. Bunny French is not just my real estate agent she has become a good friend.”
Jean Parra
“Bunny exceeded my expectations. She was honest, well informed, and diligent. She was able to address my every need and handle with skill the entire transaction. I both purchased and sold a property with confidence thanks to her expert guidance. I would highly recommend her to all!”
Robin Huntington
“Bunny was very helpful with two investment property purchases. She goes the extra mile for her clients and is very ethical. Additionally, she knew some excellent repair people and we are very satisfied with her level of service, and responsiveness to our specific needs.”

Laura Futty
REALTOR®
A Charlottesville native since 1979, Laura has seen small town Charlottesville grow and develop into one of the most beloved cities in America. After graduating from George Mason University with a degree in Psychology, and minor in Sociology, she returned to the area to pursue work in the criminal justice field, and most recently was the Executive Director of the Albemarle County Police Foundation.
Laura’s career path has taken some creative twists and turns along the way though. She is a self-motivated entrepreneur who started several small businesses, from Hoos Greek, a local fraternity and sorority supply store on the UVA Corner, to “sweet tea for kids” where she designed and created children’s custom clothing, “4 Sporty Girls” was born out of the desire to create apparel with positive messages for girls in sports, and she is currently the Owner of Eubank Tennis Services. With customer service as the cornerstone of her over twenty years of business ownership, Laura works thoughtfully and diligently with her clients to help fulfill their real estate needs.
Laura’s passion lies with helping others. Her decades of community volunteerism coupled with business ownership have afforded her the opportunity to work with various community members, agencies and organizations, and she prides herself on the relationships that she has developed. Laura is a firm believer in giving back to her community, and therefore a portion of all of her transactions are donated to local non-profits.
The Futtys are also big tennis enthusiasts! Laura’s husband, Randy, has worked in the tennis industry since 1992, and they both enjoy playing tennis and pickleball. However, their youngest daughter prefers horseback riding, so you can often find Laura at local horse shows, or in the fall, running down to Virginia Tech to see their oldest daughter and cheer on the Hokies. Laura also enjoys her daily walks around Old Trail with her two rescue Labs, Finn and Willow, decorating their modern farmhouse and shooting sporting clays.

Testimonials
“Erin Garcia helped my daughter and her husband buy their home and they raved about her, so my wife and I asked Erin to be our agent in finding and buying a home in the Charlottesville area. She is an absolute charmer, incredibly hard-working, available and responsive in a timely way, knowledgeable of the market, straightforward and savvy in her advice and recommendations, willing to try suggestions and to “go for it” even when she can’t be certain of the outcome but considers the request reasonable, affable and on good terms with other agents and local professionals (contractors and skilled technicians in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, construction/handyman, etc.) whose services a new homeowner may need. In short, Erin is top-tier not only as a professional but also as a human being, and she really seems to enjoy her work! We are very happy with our new home and super-pleased with the way the whole process went under Erin’s skillful hand. We offer our highest recommendation for Erin Garcia.”
Marvin Scoggin
“Erin is an absolutely fantastic realtor and we are SO glad that we found her. We had toyed with the idea of for-sale-by-owner and are relieved that we opted to have an agent represent our sale instead. We interviewed three top realtors in the Charlottesville area before deciding who to list with and Erin was the winner hands down. From the very first meeting she put us at ease as first-time sellers and that commitment to us never faltered even though we had a roller coaster of a sale process. All in all, we are so grateful for Erin and could not recommend her more highly.”
Ali Barta
“Erin Garcia is the best realtor by far that I have ever encountered. From the beginning she was genuinely interested in finding just the right house for me. She worked with me for over a year. When I found just the right house she took care of a thousand details for me because I lived in California. I had several inspections and she recommended very competent companies including hiring a structural engineer, home inspector, well water tests, and testing the septic system. The settlement went smoothly. Erin is a native of Charlottesville and knows the entire area. I would recommend Erin to anyone who wants communication and service way beyond your expectation.”
JM
“You won’t find a better agent than Erin Garcia. She always goes the extra mile and does her best to mitigate some of the craziness in buying and selling a house (I have done both with her). What I particularly admire is Erin’s ability to lay out the pros and cons of every sale, to offer her opinion, and then to stay out of the way to let the concerned parties deliberate. She strikes the best balance of personal involvement and respect for others’ financial decisions.”
M Farley
“Erin has been my realtor of choice on 3 transactions thus far; two on the listing side and one as buyer’s agent. In the event of my demise/disability I have left special instructions for my home to be marketed by Erin Garcia. Need I say more? “
E Henderson
“We worked with Erin twice – once to buy our house in Charlottesville – and then again five years later to sell it. As an attorney, I have been particularly impressed with her advocacy skills. She has taught me a lot about what it means to truly serve a client. She also came through for us when we had some last minute mishaps in moving out. She ushered us through the mayhem with a calm and steady hand. I can’t recommend Erin high enough.”
AN
“Erin Garcia recently helped us with the sale of my mother’s house. Throughout the process, she was a pleasure to deal with, she was always available and prompt with her answers to our questions and concerns. She was knowledgeable about the market and gave what I thought to be excellent advice on repairs, pricing, offers and counteroffers. She demonstrated the highest level of personal responsibility and professional integrity. She is, in short, a skilled professional. Whenever the subject of real estate agents comes up in conversation, you can be sure that I will give my highest recommendation and endorsement to Erin Garcia.”

Testimonials
“Bunny Gibbons is a fantastic realtor. I know that she had my best interest from the minute we started looking for a home right up to the day we closed. She was never too busy for my questions! I highly recommend Bunny.”
M. Bingler
“Working with Bunny was wonderful. She was very aware of what I was looking for – made sure I was informed – and saved me from myself a couple of times. She always made herself available when I would find a home and she was very patient with my many questions. I highly recommend her if you want a positive, helpful, informative experience in looking for a home.”
K. Norfolk
“I would highly recommend Bunny Gibbons to anyone searching for property in the Cville area. She was born and raised here, and knows the area very well. More importantly, she is professional, courteous, and always prompt. She knows when to offer advice and when to stay silent. It’s a pleasure to work with someone who is so good at her job.”
R. Lilly
“Bunny was an absolute pleasure to work with! As a first-time homebuyer, I was very pleased with how she took the time to get to know me and to explain and answer any and all parts of the home buying experience I had. She has an extensive knowledge of the Albemarle County/Charlottesville area and was able to guide me toward neighborhoods I didn’t know about that would meet my criteria. After selecting a home and going through the contract and closing process, Bunny kept every date in mind and made sure that I didn’t miss anything and that I had all the information I needed to make decisions. Throughout the entire several month searching and buying process, Bunny was professional, flexible, charismatic, and empathetic. She knows the in’s and out’s of the business and would be a great realtor to help you find your new home.”
K. Price

J. Espie
“From start to finish, Bunny Gibbons provided us with outstanding service. Extremely knowledgeable, she kept us informed and advised us throughout the process of buying a new home and selling our existing home. Her professional skills were excellent and her personality and thoughtfulness were of the highest level. We could not have asked for a better agent or been more grateful to her.”
R. Broadbent
“Bunny was fabulous to work with on buying our new home! We presented probably more challenges than usual because we live out of state now, but Bunny visited many homes on our behalf. She also advised us on the mechanics of buying a house, with very helpful recommendations! We met Bunny by chance (at a showing), and we are so glad that we did!”
Becca K.
“We highly recommend Bunny Gibbons. She knows the whole Charlottesville area like the back of her hand. She was always wanting to honor our price range and put no pressure to increase our price range. She would work so hard to accommodate our schedule for viewing houses. Her patience was so incredible in our situation that she proved to be a women of excellence in character and integrity. We felt she was looking out for our interests and desires always. She truly wanted to match us with the best house to meet our needs. We know you will have the same experience in purchasing or listing a house if you choose Bunny because by doing so you have chosen a realtor par excellence.”
N. Fuller
“We needed to find a property relatively quickly and Bunny was a tremendous help. From the day I contacted her until we closed was 27 days. Bunny was always available, quickly responded to questions and was a great help in keeping all parties on track. I would highly recommend her.”
K. Cleveland
“Bunny was knowledgeable and thorough as she helped my husband and I through our first home-buying experience. We were particularly impressed with her responsiveness as we had a tight timeline. Thank you, Bunny! We love our new home.”
S. Caldwell
“This is the first experience I’ve had where the realtor sells your house. She took care of everything and had contacts to help all phases of the process. Issues that appeared had solutions from Bunny already. You get to continue living and working while the headache of the sale is handled professionally and hands on by Bunny. I would recommend Bunny ahead of all others we’ve used in the past with zero reservations.”
D. Lucas
“Bunny was great to work with! She was on top of things- very responsive and helpful. She’s a skilled negotiator with impeccable timing. We were lucky to have her on our side. It was my first time buying a house and her knowledge and confidence put us at ease. Thank you, Bunny!”
B. Lawson
“Bunny gave me good advice on selling our parents’ home of almost fifty years. Following her recommendations, we had the place looking better than it had looked in many years in a short period of time and with minimal outlay. Her advice on pricing was solid, and we had the property under contract within three weeks. I recommend Bunny if you’re looking for a Realtor.”
L. Nunn
“Bunny’s thorough knowledge of the area and of the real estate market in Charlottesville and beyond, proved invaluable in assuring our successful purchase of the perfect home for our family.
As we were unfamiliar with the Charlottesville area, Bunny quickly assessed our preferences, coordinating an initial tour introducing us to communities most suited to needs. She was proactive in sharing listings that met and/or exceeded our priorities, quickly answering questions and coordinating home visits, placing us in an excellent position for presenting a successful offer should we decide to do so. There is no doubt her expertise and prompt action were the driving force behind our submitting a strong–and ultimately successful–offer on our new home. We are extremely grateful to her for making the process seamless.
Even now, after we have closed and moved into our new home, Bunny continues to provide us with assistance and recommendations for contractors and services, easing our adjustment to our new community.
Bunny’s professionalism and high customer service is exceptional. She is a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend her services to anyone seeking to purchase a new home.”

Testimonials
“If you are looking for a realtor who will go the extra mile, who has considerable local knowledge of the real estate market, who is whip smart, dedicated, hard working, professional and extremely responsive, then look no further. Kathy was an absolute gem to work with. Kathy made the house buying experience as easy as possible. She listened carefully to our wishlist and did everything humanly possible to help us find our dream home. She made herself available at times that worked best with our busy schedules and even entertained our kids as we toured houses! And after we bought our home and moved into it last year, she STILL answers all of my questions about broken locks or leaky faucets. I really could not have asked for anything more from a realtor. I recommend her without any hesitation to anyone looking to buy or sell a home in Charlottesville. She is simply the best — you will not be disappointed.”
Susan S.
“We were just planning our move to Charlottesville when we were given Kathy’s name. She was so incredibly helpful with our move from out of state. She helped us find a very convenient rental to stay in while we started our house search and familiarized ourselves with the area. As out of town buyers, we were not familiar at all with Charlottesville or Virginia. Kathy’s knowledge of the market is tremendous. Kathy also listened closely to what we wanted, even when our Wishlist sometimes contradicted itself. She is incredibly hard working and tracked down all the answers to our many questions, whether it was a question for the sellers or just a recommendation on where to get dinner. We would totally use her again. But we love the house we bought, so I don’t think we will ever be moving!!”
Andrea G.
“Kathy Hall did an outstanding job positioning our home for sale, helping us set pricing then beautifully managing the sale negotiation. Throughout the selling process, Kathy maintained full communications. Kathy’s expertise in real estate transactions is unparalleled. Kathy is a joy to work with and highly recommended.”
John H.
“From the beginning, we could tell Kathy truly cared about finding the right home to fit all of our needs and wants. Kathy treated us with great respect and consideration. She really connected with all of us, including our three year old son. She is kind, knowledgeable, goal orientated, funny, down to earth, and has a great work ethic. Kathy’s knack for attention to detail makes her an asset as a real estate agent, and also exemplifies a personality that draws people to her. Her sense of humor and caring demeanor make people want to be around her. My wife and I felt fortunate to have Kathy Hall representing us and we are now privileged to call her our friend.”
Kyle J.
“Because Kathy put so much time and energy into getting to know our family and our specific needs, we only saw less than ten houses before settling on ours. Every house that Kathy showed us would have worked well for our family. But, she knew there was something special about our current house and after we had decided to put down a contract, she did everything she could to ensure that it would become our home. The initial negotiation process was difficult, but Kathy was there for all of it, all the while advocating on our behalf. She treated the process with the same care and attention she would have for her own home. It is because of Kathy that we made it through all the twists and turns that our closing threw us. I know that if Kathy hadn’t been our realtor, we would not be living in the home we’re in today.”
“Kathy Hall was an integral part of our move to Charlottesville and has been just as important in our transition. Kathy has become a friend and confidant over the past few months. Someone that I can ask questions about the area or count on for restaurant recommendations, but also someone that I enjoy simply meeting for coffee. You will not find a real estate agent as knowledgeable and personally invested in the happiness and well-being of her clients in all of Charlottesville. I highly recommend Kathy as an agent, advocate, and an introduction to Charlottesville.”
Jennifer R
“Thanks for all your hard work. You were a stalwart during this whole persnickety process and we really appreciate all your efforts and good counsel. We appreciate your hard work and know we have a real advocate in our corner. Very reassuring.”
Inman M
“Thank you for your wise counsel and cool head throughout the process. I very much appreciated having a partner rather than just an agent.”
Dean J
“Thank you for being such a wonderful agent! You were exactly what I needed. It was such a pleasure working with you, and thank you for doing all that you did to make this so painless for us. You were truly a gift.”
