Testimonials

“Suzie has helped my family purchase 3 different houses/cabins in the past 3 years. We have the utmost trust in her judgement, recommendations and input in all aspects of home buying/selling. She is always quick to respond to emails and texts. She incredibly patient with our endless list of questions and concerns. She has literally crossed rivers in her own vehicle to show us an off-the-grid cabin — we couldn’t imagine a more professional, experienced and all around lovely realtor.”

Noah Libby Kopp

Noah Libby Kopp

REALTOR®

Noah was drawn to Charlottesville, like many area residents, because of the University of Virginia, where his husband attends the MD-PhD program at the School of Medicine. Noah grew up in Mid-Coast Maine in a family of builders and developers, and real estate has always been an integral part of his life. He earned a B.A. in Government from Colby College and an M.S. in Global Business Logistics from Maine Maritime Academy.

Following graduate school, Noah moved to Washington, D.C. to work in supply chain management in both the consumer goods and defense industries. After moving to Charlottesville, Noah was eager to get back to his roots. He spent over four years working for a respected local homebuilder, selling more than $44M in new construction homes in Charlottesville and Albemarle County. Additionally, he owns and manages an investment property locally.

After living in both Mid-Coast Maine and Washington, D.C., Noah loves that Charlottesville blends the best of both worlds. He adores the beautiful mountains, orchards, vibrant culture, and plethora of restaurants, all while still having a small-town feel. Noah lives in Belmont with his husband Wei and their two Labrador Retrievers. When not negotiating on behalf of his clients, Noah likes being outside, enjoying meals with his family, and daydreaming about restoring a classic wooden sailboat.

Noah strongly believes in the value of integrity, kindness, and hard work, and has a keen appreciation for the unique needs of both academic and medical professionals.

Christine Lisle

Christine Lisle

Referring Agent

Christine began her “first career” in Denver, Colorado, where she worked as a CPA at Pricewaterhouse Coopers after her graduation from UCLA. It was also there that she met her husband, who was attending medical school at the University of Colorado. Upon his graduation, the couple went from the big mountains to smaller mountains when they began their life in Charlottesville, where he is now a general surgeon at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

“Before we knew it, we had fallen in love with this place,” she said. “We were amazed that it had so much to offer, from the natural beauty and outdoor activities like hiking and biking to the history, the wineries, the restaurants, boutique shopping, theater/art galleries, concerts, college sporting events and more. We quickly realized it was the best of both worlds — a small town with big town amenities.”

Before long Christine was not only enjoying the perks of Charlottesville life, she was sharing the message with a growing list of clients in what quickly became a highly successful real estate career. The more she learned, she said, the more she realized that there was a distinct opportunity, for her to mirror her husband’s career arc in one important way. She decided to become a specialist.

“As I continued in my real estate career and at the same time became more attuned to the special demands on the lives of medical professionals, I became aware that there was a great opportunity for these two worlds to come together. I had sold houses to a number of contacts in the medical world and began to realize how much I enjoyed working with them and how much they appreciated working with someone who truly understands their needs. The White Coat Real Estate Team grew out of this realization, and I have loved every minute of it.”

Christine and her husband, Dr. Turner Lisle, live in Downtown Charlottesville with their daughter, Olivia, and two Weimaraners, Macy & Addie. In her spare time, she enjoys the sporting life here, playing tennis and golf and working out at ACAC.

Julia Parker Lyman

Julia Parker Lyman

Associate Broker

Julia is a lifelong Virginian and an honors graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.

In 1998, after a career in government and public affairs in the Washington area (with respites at their weekend home in Madison County), Julia and her family made a permanent move to Somerset, Orange County. Her children attended St. Anne’s-Belfield School and Tandem Friends School in Charlottesville.

Julia has been a Realtor since 2006 and has held an Associate Broker license since 2014. She works with sellers and buyers throughout the greater Charlottesville area. Selling vintage farmhouses and historic homes is tremendously satisfying for her, but no more so than working with clients in Charlottesville and the small towns across the region. After decades of participation in equestrian pursuits and ownership of farms in Madison County and Orange County, there is no better qualified agent to represent sellers and buyers of country homes and farms.

Clients consistently give Julia outstanding reviews for her knowledge, thoroughness, superb communication skills, and savvy representation. She brings a breadth of experience and a commitment to excellence to every endeavor. Perhaps most importantly, she takes the time to understand her clients’ needs and wishes.

From 2014 through 2018, Julia was a Court Appointment Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children in the Charlottesville/Albemarle court system. She currently serves on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Orange County. She was a member of the Board of the Keswick Hunt Club from 2004 to 2009. In 1994 and 1996 she was elected and served two terms on the Fairfax City Council. Prior work experience includes Director of Communications for a member of Congress and for the national consumer advocacy organization Public Citizen.

Testimonials

“Julia sold our home for us this past spring, and she was amazing to work with! I had debated long and hard between using a realtor and doing for-sale-by-owner, and I am SO thankful we chose to work with her. She was worth every penny of commission. She navigated the COVID crisis with ease and just made everything a breeze for us. I’d work with her again in a heartbeat.”

Holly Overstreet Donithan

“Julia is professionalism and expertise at its very best. Her reliability, communication skills, attention to detail, and marketing prowess stand apart. As someone who places great value on these attributes, I can tell you that I was consistently impressed with Julia from our initial interaction all the way through closing. Thanks to her vast network, Julia sold our house without it even being listed! This is unheard of and is a true testament to her abilities!”

Emily Wright Puckett

“Julia is great to work with! Very knowledgeable, professional, helpful and kind. She made the process easy, going above and beyond to provide useful tips and to help with the transition. I really appreciated and enjoyed working with her.”

Kate Beach

“Julia helped us move from Washington, DC and find a wonderful property in Keswick VA. Great to work with her.”

Jeff Cowan

“Julia was incredibly patient in working with us for almost 6 months as we relocated to Albemarle County. Once we zeroed in on the right house, we were very appreciative of Julia’s good sense and endless advice. She most definitely had our best interests at heart. We could not have made our move without her!”

Todd Love

“Julia was great to work with. She went the extra mile on any research that was needed or questions that needed to be answered. She was professional, friendly, efficient and always available. Her calming influence made our house-buying experience very easy. We highly recommend her.”

Michele D. DuBach

“I cannot begin to recommend Julia highly enough. Since we lived out of state, Julia really went above and beyond making arrangements with all the people we needed to meet about the house. In the end the closing almost did not happen and Julia calmed me down and asked us to give her a couple of days to make it happen. She did it and we now own this house that we love!! If you are looking for a realtor that will go the extra mile for you, communicate well with you, and simply be a pleasure to work with, you have found it in Julia!”

The family can often be found at UVa sporting events, little league fields, youth basketball & soccer games, various wineries, and out and about enjoying all that Charlottesville has to offer.

Testimonials

“WE WENT UNDER CONTRACT IN LESS THAN A WEEK!! We contacted Lisa a couple months prior to listing (due to job relocation) and really needed help strategizing a plan. We actually had consulted two other firms prior to Lisa/Loring Woodruff, but she was the clear winner. She was honest and informative.   From start to finish, she was professional, very communicative, and provided really sound and strong advice. Lisa helped us determine a top dollar pricing strategy, and assisted in every step of the process, which limited our concerns. We closed in less than 6 weeks and have moved on. Anyone buying or selling the Charlottesville/Crozet area should definitely use Lisa and her services!!”

“Lisa is an amazing realtor. She is responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about her clients. Lisa promptly answered every one of our calls/texts/emails and helped us through every step of the home selling process. In the end, our home sold in two weeks for the price we wanted. You won’t  regret using Lisa as your agent.”

“Lisa is a great realtor! She was very prompt and timely during the entire home buying process. As a first time home buyer, we did not always know what to look for or what questions to ask. She stepped in and asked questions we didn’t ask and looked for and pointed out things that we didn’t know to look for. Overall, we had a great experience with Lisa and will definitely use her in the future.”

“Great real estate agent! Lisa understood the type of home we wanted; our budget; and overall, everything we wanted in a home. We would use Lisa again to purchase a home!”

“Lisa Lyons understands the real estate business. We find her to be most professional, supportive, and up-to-date. She’s a joy to work with. We are still working with her, in fact, as she has listed our condo, currently on sale here in Charlottesville.”

“Lisa did a PHENOMENOL job getting our house on the books and SOLD within a week! Amazing, dedicated work and I highly recommend her to anyone. Lisa made our sales & purchasing such an easy process.”

Billie Magerfield

Billie Magerfield

REALTOR®, ABR, SRES

Billie has been active in the real estate business for over thirty years, serving clients in the Richmond and Charlottesville markets. Born in New Orleans, she originally moved to the Charlottesville area in 1966 to ride and show Junior Hunters. She particularly loves the numerous small town charms of Charlottesville as well as the physical beauty of the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains and surrounding countryside.

Billie enjoys introducing newcomers to the area and sharing her knowledge of local history and culture. Her clients appreciate her integrity and thoughtful attention. In fact, one of Billie’s favorite aspects of selling real estate is the friendships she maintains with her clients after the purchase or sale of a home.

With experience in marketing existing and new homes, Billie understands the complexities of the purchase, renovation, design and construction processes. Restoration and construction run in the family as her husband, Jim Magerfield, has been in the construction business for over forty years, specializing in building fine new homes and restoring distinctive, often historic, existing properties.

When she’s not working, Billie especially loves spending quality time with her family. She also enjoys collecting antiques, gardening, learning to play golf, and taking walks with her vivacious Pug, Vivi.

Testimonials

“We are senior citizens who built our home 49 years ago and decided we needed to downsize. Fortunately, we chose Billie Magerfield as our realtor, and it was one of the best decisions we have made. We live five miles north of Scottsville, Virginia, on a beautiful rural country road. We were pretty sure it would take a while for our home to sell, but we were wrong. With Billie’s guidance and support, our home sold in less than two months.
Billie guided us from the start, and although the process has not been easy, her strategy for getting our home staged was perfect. She went through the house with us, both inside and out, indicating what needed to be done in each room so that the house itself and its unique characteristics could be seen. I am sure Billie could sense and see my concern about “decluttering” in every room and closet, but she was sensitive and thoughtful in her approach and guidance. And she was right!
We are getting ready to move to our new home, and are so appreciative of the expert guidance and support Billie provided in this process, as well as her availability for questions and concerns. The photographs in the brochure she created for our home showed its uniqueness clearly, as did her description of the house in the brochure. We have felt well cared for during this entire process, and all has gone smoothly and well.
My husband and I recommend Billie with no reservations. She is a competent professional whose attention to detail and knowledge of what to do and when made this whole experience a positive one. We are so happy she was our realtor for this life-changing move.”

Brenda and Bob Lloyd

“My husband John & I sold our home on Brandywine Dr (where we lived for 32 yrs) and bought a fabulous condo at The Randolph this summer. As you can imagine, it was a huge change and involved a tremendous amount of work and psychic energy. Our Realtor on both ends of the transactions was Billie Magerfield of your firm. We cannot say enough about Billie’s guidance, professionalism, calm demeanor, listening skills and ability to respond to our needs.
Before we put our former house on the market, Billie went through the house to help us declutter and stage it for sale. All of her advice was spot on and was provided in a sensitive way with an eye toward improving the prospects for a successful sale. She helped us select a realistic sales price, attentively followed up with all Realtors who brought prospective buyers and responded immediately to all issues that arose throughout the sales negotiations. Her attention to detail was exceptional during the sale of our home and the purchase of the condo. She found us the perfect condo located downtown; we have moved and love living downtown in a smaller space.
In today’s real estate world, Billie is truly exceptional and your firm is lucky to have her on board.”

Jacquie Pickering

“We have now used Billie for four real estate transactions. Over the years we have worked with quite a few realtors. Some are good, some are not.  Billie is the best one that we have ever worked with. She is knowledgeable, organized, and reliable. Aside from being very easy to work with, Billie has another admirable characteristic which is that when she does not know the answer to something, she will tell you, but she knows where to find it and will get back to you with a thoroughly researched response.

We call her without hesitation when we need help with real estate.”

Matt and Eliza Holland

“We are new to the Charlottesville area and first met Billie at an open house. Her friendly personality and professional demeanor made us feel immediately comfortable with her. From that point on, working with Billie to search for and purchase our new home was such a pleasure! Her experience as a realtor and her expert knowledge of Charlottesville, and in particular the Glenmore area, was extremely helpful. She was very flexible with her time, responded to all of our requests for information, and talked us through all of our questions. We ended up with exactly the home that we wanted and Billie helped make it all seem easy. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a realtor!”

Sally Neill

Sally Neill

REALTOR®

Sally was born and raised in southwest VA, and graduated from The University of Virginia in 1985 with a degree in English.  She and her husband started their family in the Northern Virginia area, but were lucky enough to make the move back to Charlottesville in 2000.  Since that time, they have taken full advantage of all the cultural, athletic and dining opportunities that this great community has to offer!

Sally began her real estate career in 2006 and brought with her the valuable experience she gained  from previous jobs as both a real estate paralegal, as well as manager of her husband’s construction company.  According to her clients, she routinely goes above and beyond what’s expected of an agent.  She’s been known to help clients clean their house before a walk through, babysit children during a closing, and coordinate meals for stressed clients during their move.  In addition, fulfilling her many volunteer positions in the community and raising 4 children have honed the strong organizational skills necessary to complete a smooth real estate transaction.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Sally can often be found on the tennis and pickleball courts, in the yoga studio, or on the local bike trails.  When she’s not playing sports, working or hanging with her family, Sally likes to travel, read, do puzzles, and take long walks with her two mutts, Maisy and Mack.

Testimonials

“It was such a pleasure working with Sally who made the purchase of our new home in Charlottesville a great experience. She went above and beyond to visit many properties for us and always had the answers to our real estate questions. Nobody knows Charlottesville better than Sally and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell their home.”

Anna and Nick Passero

“When you are buying a home there are a myriad of boxes you are trying to check. But Sally’s innate integrity, intelligence and good cheer can make anyone’s dream possible. Her Charlottesville real-estate knowledge is comprehensive, and her capacity to hear and address all of your concerns and dreams is beyond  gratifying. We are forever grateful. ”

Melissa and Geoff Deutsch

“Sally is the BEST!  We have worked with Sally twice over the past 7 years in Charlottesville.  First, she helped me find a cute little cottage in North Downtown for a single girl with a roommate. 5 years later, she helped us find a bigger home for our growing family of 4.  Each time she not only helped us to find a home, but to figure out what would work for our life – location, bedrooms, spaces, etc.  We joked that she was our “life coach” and trusted advisor. Sally is a great agent and an even better person. She takes to heart what we tell her we are looking for, and does a great job finding it. When it comes to crunch time, she’s right there with you and makes things happen! We loved working with Sally – and plan to again every time in the future!”

Testimonials

“Liz is professional and diligent in her work. She is hard working and honest. Her knowledge of the market helped us sell our home quickly. We would definitely work with Liz again.”

B & T

“Liz was perfect to work with from A to Z as we sold one house and bought another. She was so attentive, my wife and I thought we were her only clients. Liz is a tsunami of energy packaged in tranquility, working tirelessly on our behalf. Liz always, always, got back to us fast with an answer to a question. She was patient and respectful. There were times I felt stuck about buying a given house and expected Liz to push me. But she never did. My wife and I felt generously supported throughout the selling and buying processes. If we were in the market again, we would pick Liz unequivocally!”

H & D

“Liz helped us find the most amazing property. We were very particular and viewed a lot of options without much success at first. She kept at it and found a gem. We were the first to see this new listing and knew instantly, it was the one! Professional, diligent, knowledgeable, and patient!!”

L & C

“Liz was the best agent we have ever worked with. She sold our home incredibly efficiently, and helped us to buy the perfect home for us under budget and right on schedule. She was knowledgeable, responsive, honest, and made a very stressful process lots of fun. Thanks Liz!”

C & E

“I used Liz as my agent to sell my property and then to purchase other properties. She had my house sold within weeks of listing it! How amazing is that? Being an out of town purchaser I had to rely on her every step of the way from looking at properties, contracts, inspections and general hand holding throughout the process. She rose to every occasion, I am forever grateful to have had her on “my team.”

LB

“Wonderful experience buying our first house with Liz. Having grown up in Charlottesville, Liz was extremely knowledgeable about Charlottesville neighborhoods and best places to live. She was very responsive on all our questions and concerns and helped us to negotiate effectively during the house buying process. Would highly recommend her to others for their house buying or selling needs in Charlottesville and surrounding areas.”

Sydney Robertson

Sydney Robertson

REALTOR®

Sydney moved to Charlottesville in 2007 to complete high school and apart from a brief time in Boston has called it home ever since. Graduating from the University of Virginia in 2012, Sydney worked in higher education before beginning her career in real estate in 2013 as a Leasing and Marketing Manager in collegiate housing at UVA. This work experience only deepened Sydney’s love of her alma mater and the city in which it was founded.

Excited to delve deeper into local real estate, Sydney got her sales license in early 2014. She has a proven track record of selling homes for top dollar after others have been unsuccessful, guiding buyers in a competitive market, and advising investors on how to grow their real estate portfolio for maximum return. After helping numerous investors navigate the intricate short term rental market, Sydney formed a business partnership in Carriage House Short Term Rental Solutions which provides a turn key solution from evaluating and purchasing properties to outfitting, advertising, and managing furnished rentals on airbnb, vrbo and the like.

She sets herself apart with a genuine love of real estate, extensive contacts in the area, an exceptional grasp of multimedia marketing, and an enthusiastic devotion to going above and beyond for her clients.

When not out scouting properties, Sydney can be found enjoying a glass at one of our area’s many vineyards, rooting for the ‘Hoos, or walking her beloved dogs around the Lewis Mountain neighborhood which she calls home.
